How did we pivot during a Pandemic to create business head shots?
What to do when a people oriented business can not be “people oriented” any longer? Pivot!
At the beginning of the pandemic lockdown, like other service industries, we shut down and waited. We researched, took online classes, learned the new world of virtual networking and meetings, but eventually companies began to re-open and they needed our services once more.
The earliest calls came for Business Head Shots. People changed jobs, moved, were hired, during a pandemic and we decided we needed to be there to help. A large part of MidAtlantic Photographic’s client base calls for professional head shots and we are well known for this type of photography. Our studio space was not open and most buildings were closed, so we moved outside! First we created an outdoor studio for traditional head shots. Later we included environmental head shots and group photography outdoors. All groups were spaced for safety and photographed from an elevated position.
Inside → Out! This is the studio lighting set up used to create space and comply with CDC guidelines.
We created studio lighting outdoors in our photo garden and carefully added traditional backdrops in post-production. Everyone we worked happily went along with this unusual set up. Thank you to all the professionals who realized our efforts to accommodate the demands of social distancing and CDC guidelines during this weird year!
